Research into the effects of Montessori education has mainly been conducted in America, within both the public and private sectors. Results have indicated:

- Montessori children gain a head start in numeracy and literacy.

- Montessori education produces long-term school success.

- Montessori children have greater observational skills.

- Montessori schools show significant improvements in children from socially or financially deprived backgrounds.

- Montessori schools are more successful at reducing aggression and improving skills.
